The cornerstone of a good relationship with your money is understanding. The entire subject can feel so off-putting that avoidance becomes easier than dealing with it. Or maybe the tools you're using feel cumbersome and overinflated for what you need, so you do the bare minimum but feel like you're missing something that could be helpful in all of that potential.
I build tools that are simple, easy-to-read, and give you the information you need. I love constructing an infrastructure that suits your business and you as a human so that you can see what's important to you in ways that make sense. Maybe you don't care what a P&L is, but you do want to know how much income you're getting from a certain offering you provide. Are you more visual? Maybe charts and graphs can help you interpret where you are and give you greater understanding in how that aligns with your goals or where you'd like to expand/contract.
Also, while my fee structures are pretty simple, there is plenty of room for nuance and shifting as you explore your relationship with the money of your business. Need to tweak the spreadsheet? You and your business are both living, growing beings, and room for experimentation and evolution is an integral facet of the service I offer.
My main goal is to get you set up with tools that fit your business within your budget. Many small businesses are fine with update-able spreadsheets in Excel or an equivalent that can pull the information directly into a chart or graph. I have a passion for spreadsheets, and I feel that most folks do better with less information rather than more when feeling overwhelmed or avoidant. (I know I do). The best thing about this process is that we can revamp things for a fairly low price point that is customized just for you.
There can be so much self-judgment and stress around money that sometimes it feels like part of us is broken. I say to you now, and will continue to say, anxiety about money is not a failing. It is a response to feeling the weight of expectation and not being able to meet it the way we want. This is often a part of our society, culture, family conditioning, difficult experiences, and our relationship not just with money but with ourselves. My goal is to provide my services in a container of respect, honor, and dignity. You do not need the added stress of judgments and opinions that diminish your humanity when trying to build your relationship with the financial aspect of your business. I may ask questions to gain more/clarifying information, and I will often verbalize validation and support as we work through this together. I believe that professionalism can encompass compassion, kindness, and equanimity more easily when we make space for it.
If you haven't heard the term "woo-woo," it can be used as a quick way to refer to a practice or belief that is spiritual in the realm of crystals, tarot, auras, and other such things. While some people use that term as a way to mock those things, I find it a charming way to encompass all that relies on faith and the unseen. I use woo-woo as a shorthand to refer to the Energy that connects all. I believe this is accessible to all people who seek that connection, whether it is through a religious tradition and rituals, earth-connected cycles and seasons, or any other possible way that one can experience that which is More than ourselves. I offer this add-on as an opportunity to gain more insight into the challenges around your relationship with money or your business.
